A Face in the Crowd

A very small percentage of sexual assault cases are reported in Japan each year. On data, Japanese society seems like a safe place to be, however, just like many other societies, children and women are attacked on a daily basis.

Despite recent movements to change the stigma against victims, inadequate sex education leaves the vulnerable ill-equipped to confront abuse. Instead, silence becomes their shield, their voices muted by fear and a system that often fails them. Censored and isolated, they carry the burden of shame.

No one seems to notice their pain; They’re faceless, muted individuals in the crowd whose full potential has been stifled.

Imagine if they find their voice now - a force capable of reshaping society itself.
